I have been given an assignment to talk about three inventions that have changed our world and made history. I could go with the obivious answer to this question and talk about the combustable engine, the internet, or even the first computers, but as much as I belive those are very important things to our lives and the way we live today, thats not what im going to talk about. I am going to talk about the current inventions that are going on today.

As technology advances, so do we, and as do our methods and perspectives on how to do things. This brings us to the first invention i'm goin to talk about. Last month I was up late flipping through the channels on the t.v. as I heard something and turned back to listen. In our medical feild they have discovered a new way of treating people with severe C.O.P.D. (a very severe cronic respitory condition) that is said to help breathing up to 100%. In the process they take a small romote control machine and run it to the pathway to your lungs, where it stretches the scarred and clogged area returing your breathing to normal. In the test that they have done everyone who has done the proceger's breathing has impoved. Just imagine, with technology advancing like it is today, soon we will have the cures to desises such as cancer and diabettes.

Now I'd like to shift the conversation over to the technology that we're using in cars today. We allready have cars that dont run on gas, park themselves, and incase your anything like me, can still "get up and go" to say the least. Yesterday i saw a comercial for a car that even senced when someone was in your blindspot. I belive one day, and one day soon, we will have cars that will drive us wherever it is we want to go. The taxi driver will become obsolete. As good as this all sounds, I also think this could be a bad thing for our country as well. With obesity rates going up every day in America, what would we do if we didn't have to do any exercise for ourselves at all? We are allready for the most part very unhealthy people, technology like that could ruin America.

I have one last thing to talk about, then I will let you go. As technology advances we endanger ourselves, instead of studing things like space exploration, wich President Obama set his mind to stop yesterday, we keep advancing in military weapons. We hire brilliant people to build us bombs, when we allready have plenty of neucler weapns. I belive that instead of that we should hire the brilliant scientist to work on things like cures for cancer. This all is my personal opinion of course, but i'd like you to think about it. The United States of America has all of the potentional in the world, imagine where we'll be in twenty years.

The most confusing topic in our game is our game itself. Okay, okay, maybe not. Our game is about music, and music trivia. I belive the only really confusing part is the questions you have to answer. Some of the questions in our game are sort of off the wall to say the least. For example what did Elvis collect? There not things you hear every day, thats about it. Have a good day!

Platforms

Platforms are used in alot of games, and there not that hard to code. Platforms are what is used to make barriers, jump on, and many other things. We used this once agian in our third, or last mini-game to make sure your not up in the air with the butterfly trying to catch the truck. Becouse, as you all know, the closest thing ever to a flying moped would be the flying bike in E.T., and since thats not gonna happen anytime soon, your going to have to wait. Collision Detection

Collision Detection is a very good thing to learn how to do. It is something you allmost must use with any moving type game. We used it in our third or last mini-game. The collision detection is used to make sure that when you hit the walrus, old lady, or all the pot-holes in our lovely West Viginian roads you have to start all over. This stops all cheating in our mini-game! So, you better be careful. Good luck!!

Before we started this subject we had no idea how to put a score system in our game. Thanks to a suggestion from Mrs. Stalnaker we decide to actually do it. In our game you earn your score through the questions in the game. The more you answer correctly the higher the score. But, in our game, the score you get controls how fast you move in the final mini-game, which will help you. So, do good!!

Scrolling Background

This topic was a very important part of our game. Luckily, it came up, if not we would have probably never figured this out. The tutorial is filled with code and many timy peices. It shows you peice by peice tho wich is a very good thing, it makes it eaisier to lern and keep in your head.

Learning From Others (finally cought up)

Honestly, all I have learned from this small topic is that you can look at other peolples things and use their ideas for your own, atleast thats what I've gotten out of it. I do not agree with this topic at all. Every person in these classes has some sort of artistic abilities, you can see mine's not spelling but you know, and we're in groups. There is no explination for not coming up with something atleast half origional. Thats what thoughs before us did, and thats what we sould do. Thats all I have to say on this topic. DO SOMETHING ORIGINAL!

Febuary 19 (action scripting... agian)

At this point i'm sure you all have noticed all of this snow, wich is really the cause of me doing this series of extreamly late blogs. Today was even a two hour delay... agian! It's really killing me, but back to subject. Our game has alot of actionscripting incorperated into it, nothing really confuseing, or nothing i havent talked about before. Febuary 3 (development plan)

We have done a development plan. There was a few questions we have answered conserning our game, and we chose 5 topics and sources to help us work on our game. we set dates and decide when and how we are gonna do the ceritian topics, wich we now know will have to be done by the 26th of March.

Recently I was just asked the question of what my dream job is.So, I thought about it and I realized i allready have the job of my dreams. I get paid to draw on poeple all day, I could not possibly think of anything better than that. Sure, maybe this class isnt helping me much in that area of work. So this is what you do, you create a background picture. The next step is just as easy, you place the picture you want to move on there, add a little action script, then Wallah!! it moves. Done, Finito, Finished, Compleate.

Okay everyone, this is a little late so im appoligizing in advance for straying off topic. Alright, a few weeks ago we added animation into our life. In simpler tearms we learned how to make things move in flash. It's a pretty easy thing to do once you get the whole concept down. Copy here, paste there, draw a line here, connect it there. Blah blah blah, it's way eaisier to show you then to explain it. To everyone out there who wants to do this, I incourage you to take every oppertunity you have to excell in this field.

Allright, first off i'd like to appoligize to everyone in my new group and in my old. I have not been here in about a week becouse of personal things. I wasn't here to learn about this, but this is what my group said we have been doing. We have just covered paper prototyping, wich I really wish I was here for, but anyway, the design looks good. We are doing a music trivia game with some educational things in it. Everythings goin good so far. Im quite a bit behind, but I hope I can pull it off. Sooo... here we go.

Well today is my first day on here and everything seems to be going good. We havent done anything in class today yet so i think i have today to tell you why im here and what ill be posting on this site. To get started i was accepted in this class where we will be learning about designing things on the enternet such as wikis, webpages, blogs, and eventually a video game that you will be able to get on and actually play it.
